Collector Preventive Saifuddin Junejo directs officials to enhance security at Karachi airport

KARACHI: The Collector Customs Collectorate Preventive Dr Saifuddin Junejo held a meeting of the Customs officers of Jinnah International Airport at his office.

The meeting was attended by Additional Collector Syed Asad Raza, Deputy Collector Ali Raza Sipra, Deputy Collector Amjad Leghari and others. During the meeting, the collector Preventive took briefing regarding security arrangements at the arrival and departure lounges of the airport.

The Additional Collector Asad Raza briefed the Collector Dr Saifuddin Junejo that the security at arrival and departure is being enhanced, adding that the Drug Enforcement Cell (DEC) and Patrolling and Remerging officials are striving hard to uproot the smuggling of contraband items.

The additional collector further said that the Customs officials at airport are vigilant and have seized millions of worth contraband items including mobile phones, laptops, tablets and other gadgets during checking at arrival and departure counters.

The additional collector further said that the millions of worth narcotics including hashish and heroin were also being seized by the Customs officials at airport.

The Collector Preventive expressed his satisfaction over the performance being displayed by the airport staff of Pakistan Customs and said that the officials should continue their working with the same zeal and enthusiasm.
