Customs Central Region collects Rs 3.45m sales tax in 15 days

LAHORE: The Customs Central Region collected Rs 3.458 billion in wake of sales tax during first fifteen days of November 2016.

As per the details, Collector Muhammad Sadiq’s Lahore Customs Appraisement collected Rs 1.178 billion, while the collection of Lahore Preventive collected Rs 511 million as sales tax under the supervision of Collector Zulfiqar Younis during the said period.

Under the supervision of Collector Sarfraz Warriach, the Multan Customs collected Rs 1.127 billion, while the Faisalabad Customs showed outstanding performance under the guidance of Collector Zulfiqar Ali by collecting Rs 642 million that is double than the collections made during same period of last year.

Overall the region collected Rs 3,458 million as sales tax revenue during the first fifteen day of financial year 20161-17. The central region has been assigned target of Rs 8254 million, which is double than the target of Rs 4127 million for last year 2015-16.

Sources said that all the collectors of the region have been putting maximum efforts to collect as much revenue in order to achieve target for financial year 2016-17 and for the reason from top to bottom every official is making hectic efforts to achieve the goal.
