Assistant Collector Fahad leaves for Karachi to attend meeting

SIALKOT: Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) incharge Assistant Collector Chaudhary Fahad Bashir has left for Karachi to attend a meeting, which was arranged by higher authorities of Karachi Customs.

Fahad told Customs Today that various matters regarding WeBoc system, Form E, ASO, transhipment, full container load (FCL) and less container load (LCL) consignments, process of customs clearance, export, import and others will be discussed in five-day long meeting.

He told that the matter of clearance of consignment through Karachi Port Trust and loading of consignment on ship in time will also be discussed, adding that representatives of all collectorates will participate in the meeting. The high ups after discussing the issues will try to find out the solutions.

He told that the matters of air consignments will also be discussed because majority of LCL consignments are send abroad by air, while it will be decided that which consignments can be sent by air and what will be their freight according to law.

The assistant collector said that the meeting will prove helpful for all collectortes in order to settle the issues being faced by them while performing routine duties. The purpose of this meeting is also to bring more facilities for importers and exporters in purview of Customs Act, 1969.
