LAHORE: Customs Collectorate Multan has collected a revenue of Rs 7891 million in four months during the four month (July to October) of current financial year 2016-17.
As per detail the Collectorate collected the revenue on account of four heads customs duty, sales tax, with holding tax and federal excise duty (FED).
The Collectorate collected Rs 1726 under the head customs duty million during the first four months of financial year 2016-17.
Similarly, the Collectorate collected Rs 6029 million under the head of sales tax during the first four month from July to October financial year 2016-17.
On the other hand the Collectorate collected Rs 78 million under the head of withholding tax (WHT) during the four months of financial year 2016-17.
On the whole Collectorate of Customs collected less tax, withholding tax and FED in the first four months July to October of financial year 2016-17.
The Collectorate’s revenue collections are largely dependent on oil import clearance and the oil import clearance fallen down to a significant level following a steep decline in the oil prices.
