The team during checking of vehicles checked a bus bearing Registration No RIP-3165 and recovered Iranian nylon rope and asked driver of the bus about booking papers of the subject goods but he could not produce the same.

Therefore, the customs officials confiscated the rope, but released the driver and bus after proper interrogation. The team shifted smuggled Iranian rope to the office and issued a notice to manager of Rawalpindi Bus Stand.

The team will register a case under Customs Act, 1969 against the suspect and send it to the Customs Adjudication for further legal action. If the court announces judgment in the favor of customs, the department will be authorised to auction of confiscated items.
