MOSCOW: The consumer rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor announced on Monday that more than 10,700 tons of food were added to import ban list so far this year. The import ban is determined by breach of transport conditions, lack of forwarding documents, quality and safety of food, the statement reads.
The quarantine control was held at 242 border checkpoints. Starting this year, Rospotrebnadzor experts supervised over 1,100 food products’ batches totaling more than 49,000 tons. Rospotrebnadzor realizes among others sanitary and quarantine control at the checkpoints on the State Border aimed to prevent importation of goods which can endanger the lives and well-being of individuals.
