Customs Intelligence earns Rs 20m through auction

LAHORE: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has earned Rs 20 million through auction of non-duty paid luxury cars and other items during November 2016.

The directorate auctioned ten vehicles for Rs 12 million and other goods for Rs 8 million. The vehicles that were sold included Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Mark-X, Toyota Lexus, Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Premio car, Toyota Surf, Toyota Mark-X, Toyota Premio, Toyota Mark-X, Toyota Premio, Toyota Mark-X, Honda Civic, Toyota Prius and Toyota Corolla X.

The Customs Intelligence auctioned other major smuggled goods and articles including Siemens brand electric generator tube, foreign origin used generator 350 KVA, 675 kilogramme of plastic sheet reels, ammonium coated plastic reels 726 kilograms, plastic aluminium sheet rolls, FG Wilson power diesel generator, used tyres of different brands, DVD Kingston, window ACs, Mitsubishi brand split ACs, mother board, PCB remote central power video, Iranian tiles, tyres of cars, medical equipment, frames fitted with HD lights and other miscellaneous items.

The directorate of Customs Intelligence was able to auction only cars, however, other miscellaneous goods and articles were auctioned in very small quantity.
