NAB to file three references of corruption against different organizations

LAHORE: An executive board meeting of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was held under the chairmanship of  Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, chairman NAB, at NAB headquarters. The following decisions were made during the meeting.

The executive board meeting decided to file three corruption references. First corruption reference was decided to be filed against Tahir Basharat Cheema and others. In this case, the accused persons were accused of misusing their authority for making 437 illegal appointments in BS-1 to BS-16 in Gepco, thus caused huge losses to the national exchequer.

Second corruption reference was decided to be filed against Mian Masood Akhtar, former Superintendent engineer Pak PWD and others. In this case, the accused persons were alleged for misuse of authority in road construction projects.

Third corruption reference was decided to be filed against Gohar Ullah, Director of M/s Fateh Textile Mills, Hyderabad. In this case, the accused persons were allegedly for illegal extraction of coal and sale in open market and thus caused a loss of Rs. 2.241 billion to national exchequer.
