FAISALABAD: The Customs Appraisement collected Rs 1389.50 million during the whole month of November-2016 against the assigned target of Rs 846.76 million surpassing it by 164 percent.
Sources told Customs Today that Customs Appraisement collected revenue under the heads of customs duty (CD), sales tax (ST), income tax (IT) and federal excise duty (FED) during the above said period.
According to the statistics data available to Customs Today, it collected Rs 319 million as customs duty against the set target of Rs 144 million.
The collectorate surpassed the target set for sale tax by Rs 162% as it collected Rs 1061.90 million against the set target of Rs 657 million.
It collected Rs, 8.52 millions under the head of income tax during the above said period against the set target of Rs 42 million and surpassed the target by Rs 20% million. It collected Rs 0.08 millions in wake of Federal excise duty (FED) against the set target Rs 3.76 Millions.
Customs Appraisement Additional Collector Saeed Asad says that their department already send notices to a number of tax defaulters in recent months asking them to clear outstanding tax dues at the earliest to avoid stern action.
