Islamabad Dry Port clears 298 containers of imported goods during November

ISLAMABAD: Dry Port Islamabad authorities cleared 298 containers (consignments) of imported goods during the month of November 2016 and filed 284 Goods Declarations (GDs) of imports during the same month of current fiscal year.

According to details told by Assistant Collector Amanat Khan that during month of November FY2016-17 the above mentioned consignments were passed through Islamabad Dry Port. He said that overall statistics showed that business activity was normal during said period.

He said that Customs Dry Port cleared 1084 consignments (containers) during first five months (July to November 016-17) of current Fiscal Year and filed 1190 GD of imports.  Amanat said that during the month of October Dry Port Islamabad cleared 211 consignments, and filed 217 GDs.

It told that during month of September FY16-17 the containers cleared by the Islamabad Dry Port were 202 as for as 231 GDs were filed during the above mentioned period.  He said that during month of August Islamabad Dry Port cleared 302 containers and filed 264 GDs (Goods Declarations).

He added that during month of July 2016-17 Islamabad Dry Port cleared 202 containers and filed 194 GDs.  He said that activity of exports activity should be enhanced so our local products can get access to the foreign markets.

Amanat said that collector MCC have advised the staff of dry port to tackle the matters of business community on priority basis.
