Collector Adjudication Raja Tahir issues notice in smuggled vehicle case

FAISALABAD: Collector Customs Adjudication Raja Tahir  issued  a show cause notice to a suspect who is allegedly involved in smuggling of used Toyota Land Cruiser V- 8.

As per the details, acting upon information the customs intelligence team established check- post near MM Road, district Mianwali. They intercepted a Toyota Land Cruiser V-8 bearing registration no. BF-7520.

During the chase of the vehicle the driver escaped from the spot and the Customs Intelligence team impounded the vehicle. The officials tried their best to trace the owner but they failed to find it.

Customs Intelligence authorities forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication Collector Raja Tahir Majeed.

Collector  Raja Tahir during hearing the case of non-duty paid vehicle had issued notice to unclaimed suspects. The culprits have been directed to file their replies in their respective cases in next month. The case of vehicle might be decided in the next hearing.

The Customs Adjudication issued notices to accused person on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969. However, the adjudication has directed to file their replies by given time, which is also last date of hearing.

It is also necessary to mention here that Customs Adjudication authorities expedited their efforts to conclude hearing of pending cases on priority basis. After comprehensive measures adopted by Customs Adjudication departments cases are being disposed off on daily basis which also helped to generate revenue.
