Customs to auction off P27M worth of used cars, other goods

MANILA: The Bureau of Customs (BOC) expects to raise around P27 million in its upcoming public auction of seized and abandoned goods.

The BOC will auction off 46 container vans containing used vehicles, e-bikes, and other goods at the Manila International Container Port (MICP) on December 14.

The government expects to raise more than P27,745,493.90 in revenue as it bids out the goods in a total of 24 lots, according to the MICP Auction and Cargo Disposal Division.

Among the goods to be bidded out include 3 x 40-foot containers containing one electric car, 9 electric passenger multicabs, two scooter bikes, and one all-terrain vehicle (ATV) with a floor price of P1,028,170.50.

Other vehicles to be auctioned off are one used Honda CRV 2000 model pegged at P150,000.00; one used 1986 Toyota car valued at P36,000.00; a Chevrolet Venture with a floor price of P30,000.00; and two units of used 2003 Hyundai Starex ambulance models with a floor price of P848,000.00. Three e-bikes with a floor price of P60,000.00 will also be sold to qualified bidders.

Besides vehicles, one 40-foot container with computer CPUs and computer parts (mouse, keyboard) will also be sold to qualified bidders at a floor price of P3,360,000.00.

Also up for bidding are two 40-foot containers of Alejandrino I, a wine product of Spain, with a floor price of P1,901,400.00.
