Chief Collector Zahid Khohar lauds anti-smuggling efforts at Karachi airport

KARACHI: Chief Collector (Enforcement South) Muhammad Zahid Khokhar has lauded the anti-smuggling efforts of Customs officials deployed at Jinnah International Airport.

He appreciated the officials’ performance during a special meeting of the Customs officers at his office. The meeting was attended by Collector Preventive Dr Saifuddin Junejo, Gwadar Collector, Collector Quetta and other high officers.

The sources disclosed that the meeting was contains one-point agenda pertaining to uproot smuggling activities and to save the national exchequer in this regard.

During the meeting, Chief Collector-Enforcement Muhammad Zahid Khohar particularly lauded the recent efforts made by the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and Customs officers deployed at Jinnah International Airport in connection with thwarting the smuggling activities, which have saved millions.

The Chief Collector-Enforcement (South) also appreciated the strategy and efforts being made by Collector-MCC Preventive Dr Saifuddin Junejo in order to curb the smuggling activities, adding that stressing upon same efforts in the future as well.

It is pertinent to mention here that the MCC-Preventive has conducted several successful raids at airport and Superhighway in which the Customs authorities seized millions of worth smuggling items including gold biscuits, heroin and Iranian diesel and petrol.

It may also be mentioned here that the Customs Today has already revealed the strategy and efforts being made by the authorities concerned of MCC-Preventive in order to thwart the smuggling attempts.

Collector Preventive Dr Saifuddin Junejo briefed the Chief Collector-Enforcement (South) about the recent performance of the Colletorate, adding that the Chief Collector was expressed his satisfaction over the ongoing activities of the Collectorate.
