KARACHI: The Council of All Pakistan Textile Associations (CAPTA) has appreciated the decision of the government to reduce gas tariff for the industry.
The representatives of CAPTA in a meeting described it as a step in the right direction, which will reduce the cost of doing business and of manufacturing. The reduction in the cost was the dire need of export-oriented industry to become cost competitive at regional and international level, said press release here on Wednesday. The country’s competitors in the region, India and Bangladesh, were providing utilities at much cheaper rates and their exports were heavily incentivised, they noted.
Meeting also re-uttered their demand for further reduction in the cost of manufacturing by lowering the tariff of other utilities and along with upgrading the infrastructure in the industrial zones.
