3G, 4G users reach 35.5m by Oct

ISLAMABAD: The number of 3G and 4G users in the country has reached 35.45 million at end of October 2016, showing around 1.13 million increase as compared to last month.

The number of mobile broadband connection was 34.32 million till September 2016. Statistics issued by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Wednesday revealed that the number of 3G subscribers of Mobilink, Zong, and Telenor reached 11.78 million, 6.68 million and 9.24 million respectively by October against 10.955 million, 6.66 million and 9.11 million by September.

Warid LTE subscribers reached 5,99,785 by end of October against 577275 during this period. The number of 4G (Zong) users jumped from 1,713,900 subscribers in September 2016 to 1,903,285 subscribers by end October 2016. Moreover, mobile phone users reached 134.91 million by October, up from 134.41 million a month ago, registering an increase of around 0.5 million cellular subscribers during the period. Mobile tele-density reached 69.22 percent.
