LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested Tariq Mehmood, who is allegedly involved in hundi and hawala business and money laundering.
According to FIA spokesperson, a raid was conducted by FIA team comprising Inspector Nasir Awan, Inspector Abdul Qayyum, Inspector Shafqat, Inspector Ashfaq and Inspector Marouf at Muqaddar Prize Bonds, Main Bazar Pattoki where Mehmood was found involved in illegal business of currency exchange without permission of the State Bank of Pakistan.
The FIA team recovered Pakistani currency amounting to Rs 169,800, 2,773 Saudi riyal , 10,000 Thai Bhat, $200, prize bonds and other items.
Mehmood is a resident of mohallah Bhedian, Pattoki. FIA shifted the accused to unidentified place for further investigations and prosecution.
