MULTAN: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has adjourned hearing of 14 kilograms of gold smuggling case for next week.
Earlier the court had rejected post arrest bail plea of two female suspects who are allegedly involved in smuggling of 14 kilograms of gold and currency from Multan International Airport.
According to details Customs authorities deputed at Multan International airport recovered 14 kg gold from two females which they wear in their hands in shape of bangles (kara) and anklets (pazaib) along with 39000 Saudi riyals and United Arab Emirates dirhams. Multan Customs recovered gold and foreign currency worth approximately Rs.64.6 million and lodged an FIR on the both arrested women in charges of smuggling and money laundering.
Earlier Customs Special Judge Chaudhry Ameer Muhammad Khan first approved their physical remand and then send them to jail on judicial trial. Both arrested females are in jail for their judicial trial and the court has rejected their bail plea.
