FBR seeks record of adjudicated cases from Collector of Customs Adjudication-I

KARACHI: Asif Marghoob Siddiqui, the collector of the collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I, has directed the additional collectors, deputy collectors and assistant collectors to prepare a list of adjudicated cases of the last six months, it is learnt here.

Sources informed Customs Today that Siddiqui has received a letter from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), seeking comprehensive details of the adjudicated cases during the last six months. The FBR has also asked the collector to produce entire record of the cases by the end of the second quarters of the fiscal year 2016-17.

According to sources, a total of 135 cases have been adjudicated at all levels during the last six months. At least 42 cases have been adjudicated from Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I during the first two quarters of the current fiscal year.

Meanwhile, Chief Collector of Appraisement South Abdul Rasheed Shaikh has reviewed the performance report of all the three field formation collectorates to discuss it with Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan.

Shaikh has already reviewed the phase-wise performance of the field formations before the visit of the chairman and has advised the collectors to prepare their revenue related briefing by the end of this week.

The FBR chairman will visit Customs House and other related offices and all the officials concern are busy in making comprehensive presentations so that they could brief the chairman in this regard”, sources
