Deputy Collector Asfandyar surrenders services of Appraising Officer Dost Muhammad Khan

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate of Appraisement West, Deputy Collector Group-II Asfandyar Khan has surrendered the services of Appraising Officer Dost Muhammad Khan for being absent from his duty from October 19, 2016 onwards, it is learnt.

“It has been observed with grave concern that you Dost Muhammad, appraising officer, are found absent from duty from October 19, 2016 onwards without intimation to the higher authorities. This reflects non-seriousness on your part,” according to an explanation memo available with Customs Today.

“You are hereby directed to explain the reasons for not attending the office within three days, failing which your services will be surrendered to Deputy Collector (Headquarters) for further necessary action at that end,” it added.

In yet another orders, Deputy Collector Appraisement Group-II has forwarded a letter to Deputy Collector Headquarters, asking for further proceeding in the case.

“Despite the lapse of ten days, the appraising officer has neither explained his position nor reported for duty, therefore, services of AO Dost Muhammad Khan are surrendered to the office of Deputy Collector Headquarters with the request to proceed in the matter as per law,” the letter said.

“It is further requested that a suitable replacement may please be provided at the earliest for smooth functioning of day to day affairs at this end,” the DC further stated.
