Faisalabad Excise collects Rs 727.465 m as property tax

FAISALABAD: The Excise and Taxation Department has collected Rs727.465 million in the wake of property tax from July to November 2016 of the current fiscal year.

Sources told Customs Today that excise department collected Rs 636.181million as property tax from Faisalabad during the above said period. It has achieved yearly target of Rs 1,310.088 million up to 49 percent

Similarly, it has collected Rs 26.099 million from Jhang against the assigned target of Rs 66.917 million for the year and it has achieved its target up to 39 percent.

From Chiniot, it has generated Rs22.355 million in wake of property tax by achieving its target of Rs 67.565 million.

Excise Toba Tek Singh assigned Rs 42.829 million target for the running year, while it has collected Rs 85.840 million by achieving the target up to 66 percent. The Excise and Taxation department has formed teams to recover property tax from defaulters.

The team will take action in different areas of its jurisdiction including Chak Jhumra , Jaranwala , Tanlianwala , Samundri and Dajkot . Official said that teams will be headed by Assistant Director of property tax branch Rana Safdar .

The teams comprising Inspector Mohammad Shahid Gilani , Faisal Aziz , Mohammad Sadiq and other participate in action against the tax defaulters.

It is necessary to mention here that excise and taxation department is using all available resources to collect more revenue from defaulters. Sources said that excise department is already adopted comprehensive strategy to meet the assigned revenue target for Financial Year 2016-17 and due to these measures excise will achieve revenue collection target of FY 2016-17.
