KIEV: In the first five months of the current season, pea exports from Ukraine have managed to exceed last season’s potential, reports UkrAgroConsult. So, 252 KMT of peas were shipped for export from July through November, or 4.5% more than in 2015/16 (242 KMT).
Traditionally, the key importer remains India with its export share reaching 43%. Ukrainian exporters supplied roughly 108 KMT of peas to this market in the period under review that is already more than India exported for the full past season (105 KMT). This trend also concerns the second largest importer of Ukrainian peas – Pakistan, which received 38.5 KMT against 36.7 KMT in MY 2015/16. In addition, the shipments to Turkey, Bangladesh, the UAE, the EU and Africa were also higher than last year, informs UkrAgroConsult.
