DG I&I Shaukat Ali re-distributes work among different officials

ISLAMABAD: Director General Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Shaukat Ali has re-distributed work among various officers to improve performance of the directorate.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Director Customs I&I HQ Khaldun-ul-Haq has already issued an office order in this regard. Now Additional Director Ghulam Mustafa will look after the affairs of imports and exports of all customs stations as well as the intellectual property rights. The charge of anti-money laundering has also been assigned to him. He will also look into the matters of reforms and automation, information management system, sales tax and federal excise duty, legal sections, PAC and DAC Audit, public and private bonds, diplomatic bonds and rebates.

According to a notification, Deputy Director Zhaeer Abbas has been assigned the responsibilities of international airports, International Mail Offices, exemptions regime, anti-money laundering and intellectual property rights matters. Assistant Director Furqan Mehmood will handle the affairs of audit cell and will also look after the affairs of public accounts and departmental accounts.

The Director General Customs Intelligence and Investigation has expressed the hope that his department will continue to show good performance and will work with same zeal and devotion in future. He said that the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department will definitely achieve revenue collection targets assigned for the financial year 2016-17.
