Food outlets imposed Rs 48,500 fine

FAISALABAD: Punjab Food Authority team has imposed a fine of Rs 48,500 on hotels, bakeries and other food outlets on charge of violation of rules and regulations.

A team supervised by Deputy Director (Operation) Shahbaz Sarwar checked various foods manufacturing units and imposed fine on charge of running business in unhygienic atmosphere.

He imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on Mahi Sweets and Bakers in Tandlianwala besides confiscating and destroying its more than 50 kg sweets.

Similarly, Hazara hotel in Chak Jhumra was imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 over selling expired items whereas Daewoo Mart was fined Rs 5,000, Gull Tuk Shop in GTS chowk Rs 5,000 and Hajji food point in Tandlianwala was fined Rs 3500 on poor cleanliness.
