Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Shipping Activity brisk shipping was recorded at the Port where seven ships CV Xpress Kailash, CV MSC Joanna, MV HHL Elbe, MV De Hua, MT Shandong Zihe, MT Eagle Phonix and MT Argent Fressia carrying containers, general cargo, palm oil, condensate and phosphoric acid were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terninal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal, respectively on Sunday.

Meanwhile three more ships Al-Rawadha, Maria III and pacific beryl with containers, LPG and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 67% on Sunday where a total of ten ships namely Xpress Kailash, MSC Joanna, TG Posidon, HHL Elbe, Da Hua, Shan Song Zihe, Infinity, Argent Freesia, Sienna Princess and Eagle Phoenix are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, project cargo canola seeds, LPG, palm oil and condensate oil respectively during last 24 hours, A cargo volume of 60,201 tonnes, comprising 39,454 tonnes import cargo and 20,742 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,613 containers TEUs ( 741 imports TUEs & 872 TUEs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.

Three ships Xpress Kailash, TG Posidon and Sienna Princess sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two ships MSC Joanna and HHL Elbe are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Three ships CV Al-Rawadha, MV An African and MT Al-Rekayyat scheduled to load/offload containers, cement and LPG are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Elengy Terminal respectively on Monday, while a chemicals carrier Atlantic Glory is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and two container ships ‘Maersk Chicago and MSC Tomoko’are due to arrive on Tuesday, December 20, 2016.
