Kohat ASO seizes non duty paid goods amount Rs.6.955 million

ISLAMABAD: Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Kohat seized container full of smuggled goods including non duty paid vehicle and 1 offending vehicle amount to Rs.6.955 million.

Sources told Customs Today that with the pursuance of intelligence information the ASO Kohat established a picket on GT Road, after waiting couple of hours the ASO intercepted a container which was coming from Afghanistan.

After interception the squad asked the possessors to provide relevant documents who which can proof that loaded goods are not smuggled , adding that the possessors failed to provide any proof about seized goods after that squad seized the container and send them to state ware house Kohat.

The sources said that the ASO also seized the offending bearing registered No.6391, the estimated value of seized offending vehicle was amounting 03 million as for as the value of seized smuggled goods were estimated amounting Rs.3.955.

Sources said that the seized offending vehicle contained a NDP Jeep, auto parts, edible and assorted goods adding that the smuggled goods were carrying from Afghanistan to KPK, the ASO staff intercepted the goods at Kohat Tunnel.

The sources said that FIR has been registered against the smugglers and further investigations are still underway.
