Mainwali ASO seizes foreign origin clothes worth Rs1.480m

FAISALABAD: Custom Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO), Mainwali seized huge quantity of clothes worth Rs1.480 million near MM Road Mainwali.

During the checking of the vehicle the ASO official asked the driver to show the documents of the vehicl but the driver Amer Khan was failed to produce legal documents.  On this the ASO officials seized the clothes. Official said that the value of seized clothes is Rs1.480 million. The ASO Mainwali registered a case No 47/2016 against the suspect and forwarded to custom adjudication.

Meanwhile Customs Adjudication additional collector issued two show cause notices to accused person which are going to expire on the December 23, 2016.

As per details, the custom Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sargodha intercepted a foreign origin Toyota Land Cruiser bearing registration No.LHH-7904 Lahore during action in Sargodha.

The official asked the driver to show documents regarding legal import of the vehicle. But the driver named Qaleem Raza failed to produce the same documents on which the vehicle was impound under the custom act. The value of the vehicle has been estimated Rs1.311 million.

The Sargodha ASO registered a case No34/2016 against the suspect and forwarded to the custom adjudication. The adjudication issued show cause notice to the suspect to appear before the Court or submit written reply to defend the allegations.

It is learnt that the accused person has not filed any reply to defend the allegations. It is important to mention here that the custom adjudication might issue another notice to the suspect or decided the case keeping in view the available evidence.It is also mentioned that the above said case is being heard by the additional collector. Another show cause notice to accused person which is going to expire on 23, December 2016.
