Multan Customs seizes non duty paid goods, vehicle worth Rs165.9m in FY 2016-17

MULTAN: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office has paced up its crackdown on smuggling of vehicles and miscellaneous goods  during on-going economic year 2016-17.

According to details , Customs Intelligence has carried out various anti-smuggling operations in jurisdiction to curb smuggling. Customs Intelligence has participated more actively in their anti-smuggling operations as compared to previous fiscal year 2015-16 in Multan.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation teams of Multan Range office has formed 122 various seizures in the first five months of the current fiscal year 2016-17. While Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan detected only 57 seizure cases in the corresponding fiscal year 2015-16.

As many as 72 various non-customs paid vehicles of worth Rs.115 million were impounded  by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation teams in their operations and different raids in territory. The seized vehicles includes Mercedes Benz, Toyota Corolla ,Toyota Crown, Toyota Corolla G ,Toyota Hilux Surf ,Toyota Land Cruiser, Hino truck, Mazda and others.

Furthermore Customs Intelligence has seized cloth, tyres, Irani diesel, aluminum sheets, generators, cigarettes, black tea, used auto parts, compressors and other miscellaneous goods in their actions during the existing fiscal year.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan has collected Rs.15.4 million customs duty from various importers on differential amount of duty taxes by detecting tax evasion. Customs Intelligence and Investigation has collected all duties taxes without formation of any seizure report and importers have also commit their mistake by paying all differential amount of duties and taxes.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation has already expedited their efforts to curb smuggling of plastic granules from cross border in their jurisdiction after crackdown and have not detected any case of smuggling plastic granules in their massive scale anti-smuggling operations in Dera Ghazi Khan, Sadiqabad and Multan.
