FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO), Faisalabad, has seized 14,000 kilogram of foreign origin almonds worth Rs 1500,000 involving customs duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 526,240. A Hino truck loaded with almonds was also impounded worth Rs 2500,000.

Sources Told Customs Today that an ASO team impounded a Hino truck bearing registration No: TKZ-001 and recovered foreign origin almonds packed in Jute bags of Afghanistan brands. The officials asked the accused named Shamsullah son of Haji Muhammad Esa having CNIC No: 54201-3669021-3 to show documents regarding its legal import, but he failed.
