Customs ASO seizes non-duty paid fabric near Attock Khurd

ISLAMABAD: Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized foreign origin fabric worth Rs3.1 million near GT Road Attock Khurd.

According to details, the Deputy Collector ASO Shahid Jan pursued an intelligence that a Toyota Corolla car is heading towards capital with huge quantity of foreign origin fabric. He immediately formed a team and established a check post at GT road Attock. The ASO team intercepted a Toyota Corolla car bearing registration No ICT AD 515 loaded with smuggled fabric. The ASO staff asked the possessor to produce documents regarding the possession and transportation of the fabric. After his failure the ASO team seized the fabric. The quantity of seized fabric was approximately above 100 kilograms.

The Deputy Collector Shahid Jan told Customs Today that after registering a case, ASO shifted the seized fabric and offending car to state warehouse and forwarded the case to I&P for further investigation.

The ASO officers who took part in said seizure were Deputy Superintendent Rana Shakeel and Deputy Superintendent Matloob Hussain Shah.
