Customs Appellate Tribunal urged for early hearing of tax-evasion case

LAHORE: M/s Inam Traders filed appeal before Customs Appellate Tribunal for early hearing of the case filed against Customs Collector Mughal Pura dryport, Lahore, Collector of customs (Adjudication), customs house Nabha Road Lahore, additional collector, deputy collector and assistant collector of Customs Collectorate (Appraisement), Mughalpura Lahore.

The appellant mentioned in the appeal, he filed case before the Customs Appellate Tribunal that was challenged the order in original against the Customs authorities Number 11, 2014 dated 27 June 2014 on 16 February 2016 which is not fixed for the hearing yet.

He also mentioned in the application that he has good arguable case and there is very likelihood that the same case will be decided in the favour of applicant.

The respondent assistant collector of Customs has issued recovery notice under section 202 of Customs Act 1969 and used some coercive measures for the illegal demand of recovery of Rs. 1681639.

The counsel of appellant chudhary Sakhi Muhammad and Muhammad Yousaf Khan prayed in the application humbly that the instant application may kindly be accepted as early as possible and operation of the impugned order-in-original and recovery notice may kindly be suspended till final decision. He also prayed for the fixation of case on earliest basis.
