Customs Appraisement East collects Rs 26,714m duties/taxes in December 2016

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement East has collected at least Rs 26,714 million taxes/duties under head of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty during the month of December 2016.

 According to sources, the Appraisement East collected Rs 26,714 million taxes and duties that included Rs 9,492 million customs duty, Rs 12,868 million sales tax, Rs 4,252 million income tax and Rs 102 million federal excise duty in the month of December 2016.

 While showing its extra ordinary performance, the Appraisement East Collectorate collected Rs 1,903 million on the last working day i.e. December 31, 2016 that included Rs 770 million customs duty, Rs 836 million sales tax, Rs 294 million income tax and Rs 2 million federal excise duty.

 So far, the sources said the Appraisement East collected Rs 144,805 million taxes/duties from July 1 to December 31, 2016 that included Rs 50,664 million customs duty, Rs 69,040 million sales tax, Rs 24,465 million income tax and Rs 636 million federal excise duty.
