DG Customs Intelligence Shaukat Ali visits Karachi to review performance

KARACHI: Director General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Shaukat Ali appreciated the efforts of Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) on the result oriented raids against smugglers.

Director General Shaukat Ali visited Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation and reviewed the progress of the departments. Director Customs I&I Enforcement Samina Tasleem Zohra and Director ASO Feroze Alam Junejo welcomed Director General Shaukat Ali on his arrival.

Afghan route closure weighs on Pakistan-Central Asia trade, exports fall 9%, imports plunge 88%

During the visit Director ASO Feroze Alam Junejo and Director I&I Enforcement Samina Tasleem Zohra briefed director general about the ongoing activities and performance of the officers against the offenders involved in the smuggling and tax evasion.

The director general appreciated the efforts of both departments in curbing crime causing billions of rupees loss of the revenue as well as disgracing the name of the country. The director instructed both departments to work more efficiently and utilize every possible way to prevent the activities of smugglers and tax evaders in a well manner.

While appreciating the Anti Smuggling Organization team on the recent mega seizures that held at the International sea routes the Director General asked to expend the blanket of the informers as widen as possible so that the activities of the culprits can be monitored in well manner.

Director General Shaukat Ali was on two days official visit to Karachi where he held several meetings and reviewed the overall progress of the departments.
