Gujranwala Excise and Taxation collects Rs1.615b in Nov, Dec

SIALKOT: Gujranwala Excise and Taxation Department has collected Rs1.555 billion in the wake of property tax and collected Rs60.344 million under the head of motor tax during the months of November and December 2016.

Official sources told Custom Today that the department collected Rs92.255 million as property tax from Gujranwala Division during said months. AS per the detail,s Excise and taxation department collected Rs3.200 million from Sialkot against assigned target of Rs6.540 million while from Gujrat the Excise Department collected Rs3.100 million achieving its target of Rs 6.30 million.

Sialkot has been assigned target Rs9.2 while it collected Rs4.08 million. However Director Sohail Arshad has constituted various teams which will take stern action to recover property tax from the defaulters.

The team comprising Inspectors Malik Riaz, Asad Ullah, Shabbir Ahmed, Gulzar and others are participating against the tax defaulters. Meanwhile the motor registration branch of the department has collected Rs49.353 million against the assigned target of Rs65 million during the said period.

The Excise and Taxation Department collected Rs30.290 from Gujranwala against the assigned target of Rs50.60 while from Sialkot collected Rs3.022 million against the assigned target of Rs7.21 million.

Sialkot Excise and Taxation Department District Officer Muhammad Saleem Malik told that the department is taking strict action against defaulters while the department has tighten nose around the defaulters.
