Director Customs Shaukat Ali issues notification to staff

ISLAMABAD: Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Shaukat Ali directed the staff not to leave the station without a prior permission of the directorate.

According to details, Deputy Director Khaldun-ul-Haq issued a notification with the approval of Shaukat Ali ordering the customs officials to not leave the station without any prior permission, even on the holidays, adding that the directorate is a vital institute which prevents smuggling and imposes duties. The officers need to perform duties on every occasion to prevent the huge revenue loss to the exchequer and discourage trafficking of smuggled goods.

The sources told Customs Today that the notification states that any officials found violating the orders will be proceeded under the Government Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules-1973.

A copy of the directive has already been sent to the director Anti-Smuggling Enforcement, Intelligence and Investigations Karachi, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Lahore, Faisalabad, Quetta and Gawadar as well as the entire field investigating units.
