The committee comprises of MCC Multan Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich, Customs Appraisement Lahore Collector Sadiq, Customs Preventive Lahore Collector Dr. Zulfiqar Younas and Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhry of Faisalabad Customs.

She has nominated MCC Multan Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich as head of the committee. All the four collectorates of the central region will contribute in the project.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has ordered the translation after the clear directions by the Supreme Court of Pakistan for the implementation of Urdu in government departments.

It may be remembered that the Customs Act’s translation has already been done by Muqtadar-e-Urdu before but it could not be understood by the common people due to use of unfamiliar words of Urdu.

The customs central region committee for Urdu translation will hold a meeting today (Friday) which will be chaired by Chairman Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich along with other members of the customs for further progress on the project.
