Customs collects Rs277m as federal excise duty in H1

LAHORE: The Customs Central Region has collected Rs277 million in the wake of federal excise and taxation revenue during the first half of financial year 2016-17.

As per details, Lahore Appraisement collected Rs46 million on account of federal excise duty during first six months of the period while the Lahore Customs Preventive collected Rs120 million as federal excise duty.

Similarly, Multan Customs generated Rs110 million as federal excise duty during theabove mentioned period.

On the other hand, the Faisalabad Collectorate collected Rs0.17 million on account of federal excise duty during the six months of financial year 2016-17.

Overall the customs central region collected Rs277 million in the wake of federal excise duty during the said period.

Sources told Customs Today that Central Region Chief Collector Samaira Nazir has urged all Collectorates to meet financial year’s targets and speed up collection all the taxes.
