NEW YORK: Google develops child friendly versions of its search site, Chrome browser and video sharing service YouTube.
Google’s vice president of engineering Pavni Diwanji said that company was aiming to make customized versions plan for children aged up to 12.Google has not talking about the release date of product.
Google’s plan follows other projects it has run that are aimed at children.
The product versions will be expected to go further than the secure search tools found on browsers and search sites accessible from Google and many others.
Wrapped around the child friendly versions will be tools that let parents monitor and control how much time their offspring spend online and where they go.
The US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Coppa, company plans could be limited, which specifies how much data can be collected about children and how it can be used. Heavy fines have been imposed on firms that disobey Coppa.
