ISLAMABAD: Collector of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Islamabad, Dr Arslan Subaqtaqeen, earned a revenue Rs218.68million and surpassed the above assigned target with Rs21.78million more collection under the head of Sales Tax during 15 days of January, Financial Year (FY) 2016-17.
According to details, the collector MCC Islamabad was assigned the collection target of Rs196.90million of current month of FY16-17.
The collector said during the last Financial Year 2015-16 the collectorate got revenue of Rs150.58million under the head of Sales Tax whereas the collectorate of Islamabad Customs had assigned Rs436.00million target under the head of Sales Tax for the month of January FY16-17.
The collector is optimistic about achieving more collection than the assigned target. He added that the collectorate achieved revenue amounting to Rs293.52million under the head of Sales Tax (ST) against the assigned collection target of Rs.191.03million during 15 days of December FY16-17. He further said the collectorate was assigned collection target of Rs193.95million for same period during the last Financial Year 2015-16 under the head of the ST.
He said the collectorate not only surpassed its assigned target of initial 15 days but has also paid rebate/refunds of Rs5.0million, adding the MCC has allocated Rs23million to pay refunds/rebates to exporters during the month of January FY16-17.
The collector told Customs Today that the collectorate is making new planning to meet all duty taxes targets. The assigned revenue collection targets will be higher against the past months’ targets in the coming months of FY2016-17.
