All set to mark International Customs Day 2017 on 26th Jan with zeal

KARACHI: Pakistan Customs has started preparations to mark International Customs Day (ICD) 2017 here on 26th January at Old Customs House, Eduljee Dinshaw Road Karachi.

According to the details, Pakistan Custom will mark 26th January as International Customs Day 2017 and for this purpose a grand ceremony will be held at Old Customs House, Eduljee Dinshaw Road Karachi which will be started after the flag hoisting ceremony.

The daylong event will encompass the speeches of the Collector Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Preventive, chief collector South Enforcement respectively as well as the chief guest, Member Customs Nasir Masroor Ahmed will deliver an address to the gathering.

According to the source on the International Customs Day 2017 huge narcotics and drugs will be destructed at E-2, Customs Colony, Mauripur and for the destruction another ceremony will also be held on the same day.

The source also informed that for the said event being organized by Pakistan Customs, the Collecroate of Customs Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Preventive has issued the invitation to the high level authorities including the brass of the department.

Before the ending ceremony of the event the chief guest will also distribute certificates among the officers who performed their duties in well manner showing the outstanding work.

It is pertinent to mention that the International Customs Day (ICD) is celebrated to enhance the effectiveness and efficacy of the member customs administrations and to enhance the revenue collection, community protection, national security as well as trade statistics collection.
