ISLAMABAD: The Car Cell of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Islamabad, impounded a non-duty paid (NDP) vehicle Toyota Land Cruiser whose appraised cost is Rs3million.
According to details, the car cell set up a picket on a tip-off and intercepted a smuggled Toyota Land Cruiser with registration No: B-4019 Swat.
The staff asked the driver to provide original documents but he failed to prove the legal status of the vehicle. The owner was going from Quetta to Swat.
Afterwards, an FIR was lodged against the smuggler. The vehicle was impounded under the Customs Act-1969, clause 16. The documents of vehicle have been sent for further examination to the Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) Department.
