Multan Customs collects Rs14.32m through auction

MULTAN: The Model of Customs Collectorate generated Rs14.32 million through auction of confiscated miscellaneous goods and impounded vehicles.

According to details, customs held public auction of impounded vehicles and various confiscated goods at Multan Customs House. These goods and vehicles were seized by the Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization in various operations.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs offered 9 impounded vehicles for auction including Toyota Hiace, Toyota Crown, Toyota Vitz, Honda Civic, Toyota Fielder, Suzuki Jimny, and Toyota Hilux. Out of which, six vehicles of worth Rs6.21 million sold out successfully in auction. The rest of three were not sold due to fewer price offered by the bidders. The highest bid offered on confiscated vehicle was Rs1.2 million for Toyota Premio.

Sources said that customs offered 21 lots of confiscated goods in auction including ball bearings, POL product, welding rods, scrap of dismantled vehicles, memory cards, cosmetics, blankets, spark plugs, air-conditioners, grease, DVD players, mobile phones and empty fuel tanks.

Multan Customs sold only four lots of miscellaneous goods worth Rs8.11 million in auction. The rejected vehicles and lots of goods will be offered in next auction after revision of their average price.

The auction was supervised by Assistant Collector Muhammad Zohaib Sandhila along with Inspector Zia Bhatti to ensure the transparency.
