DHAKA: The Dhaka Customs House Preventive Team detained a passenger returning from Singapore for attempting to smuggle in one kilogram of gold bars concealed in his rectum.
According to details, the passenger, identified as Fazlul Haque, arrived in Dhaka, on board Singapore Airlines flight SQ-446, said Dhaka Customs House Assistant Commissioner HM Ahsanul Kabir.
“The suspect was called in for a search due to suspicious activity. Ten gold bars were recovered from his rectum.”
The gold weighed 1kg and its estimated market price was Taka5 million.
