NEW YORK: According to Washington University in St .Louis, other cameras have to face boundaries such as on-chip storage and being no faster than 10 million frames in 1 second but the fastest 2D camera captures 100 billion frames per second.
The researchers involved in the new camera’s development utilized a brand new technique referred to as compressed ultrafast photography, which creates movies built with a single blast of a laser that contains photon racing in two media, a “non-information” faster-than-light propagation method, refraction, and laser pulse reflection.
Lihong Wang, the study’s leader and a biomedical engineering professor, said that the new camera makes it possible for light pulses to be seen by the human eye for the first time ever. Using the new technique allows the imaging frame to be advanced by orders of magnitude, Wang added, which should enable a “quantum leap forward” in imaging technology.
