Customs Central Region collects Rs47m FED in first 15 days of Jan.

LAHORE: Customs Central Region has collected Rs47million federal excise duty (FED) during the first fifteen days of January financial year 2016-17.

As per details the Customs Appraisement Lahore collected Rs 0.15 million during the first 15 days of the month under review financial year 2016-17. Similarly, Customs Preventive Lahore collected Rs40.35 million FED during the period under review. The Collectorate of Multan collected Rs7 million FED during the period under review.

However the Collectorate of Customs Faisalabad collected Rs 642 million FED during the first fifteen days of financial year 2016-17.

Overall the Central Region collected total sales tax from all the four collectorate worth Rs47 million FED during the first fifteen day of financial year 20161-17.

It is necessary to mention here that the Central Region has been assigned Rs 31 million FED collection target which is almost double than that of the last year’s Rs18 million.

Sources said that all the collectors under region have been told to put maximum efforts to attain as much revenue as they can do to achieve financial year 2016-17 target and for the reason from top to bottom every official is putting hectic efforts to achieve the goal.
