Hyderabad ASO impounds non-duty paid Toyota Premio

HYDERABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Premio model-2004 worth Rs8,00,000 involving duty and taxes of Rs1.0 million during a crackdown in Badin.

According to details, Collector Agha Shahid Majeed Khan received credible information about a non-duty paid vehicle in Badin city. He immediately constituted a special team under the supervision of Additional Collector Omer Shafique.

The ASO team started searching vehicles near Badin and intercepted a Toyota Premio bearing registration No: AAA-639 model-2004. The ASO team asked the driver to show the documents regarding legal import and possession of the vehicle. The driver remained failed to show any required documents to the customs officials.

After his failure, the ASO team impounded the vehicle and registered a case against the accused under the prevailing customs law.

After making the seizure report, the ASO team deposited the impounded vehicle to the Hyderabad State Warehouse and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for further proceeding.

The ASO team participated in the above said seizure was comprised on Superintendent Sikandar Akbar Panhwar, Inspector Asaduddin Mirza, Inspector Muhammad Iqbal, Inspector  Mushtaq  Ali Lakho and Sepoy Mohammad Ayub and Driver Siddiqui.
