TEHRAN: About 1,120 tons of farmed shrimp have been produced in Iran’s northern Golestan Province since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2016), more than 580 tons of which have been exported, the head of Golestan Fisheries Organization said. “We hope to increase our exports to 900 tons by the yearend,” Javad Qods Alavi was also quoted as saying by IRNA. Europe, East Asia and the littoral states of the Persian Gulf are the main export destinations for shrimp produced in Golestan.
