ATIR postpones hearing of case filed by M/s Shalimar Recording Company

ISLAMABAD: A bench of the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) adjourned the hearing of M/s Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company for Wednesday.

ATIR Accountant Member Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Bhatti heard the case. The bench adjourned the hearing of the matter for further arguments. The company had contested a show cause notices issued by the field offices of the Federal Board of Revenue.

According to details, M/s Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company had challenged recovery notice issued to it under the head of outstanding income tax by the LTU, Islamabad.

M/s Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company had submitted the department had issued the demand for the tax year 2014 in head of income tax under provisions of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), officers of LTU including commissioner Inland Revenue, commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals) and Appellate were made respondents in the case.

M/s Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company prayed that the assessment order issued by the LTU officer was illegal, unlawful and without legal grounds.
