Hyderabad customs generates Rs1009.551m revenue in January2017

HYDERABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate collected Rs1009.551 million in the head of duties and taxes during the month of January 2017 against the assigned target of Rs1220.00 million.

According to details, the Collectorate generated revenue of Rs295.209 million as customs duty against the assigned target of Rs221.0 million while in head of sales tax, the Collectorate collected Rs700.958 million against the assigned target of Rs966 million.

Sources said that the Collectorate collected Rs0.782 million in head of federal excise duty (FED) against the assigned target of Rs2.0 million whereas, Rs12.602 million was collected against the target of Rs31 million in head of income tax.

Sources said that during the above said period, the major sources of tax generation for Hyderabad customs remained Hyderabad Dry Port Trust, State Warehouse, Sukkur and Larkana stations, M/s Huffaz Seamless Pipe Industries, M/s Crescent Steel, M/s Omni Polymer Industries, M/s Reema Cooking Oil and Pakistan State Oil.

Hyderabad customs staff including Collector Agha Shahid Majeed, Additional Collector Rehmatullah Vistro, Additional Collector Omar Shafique, Deputy Collector Shahid Ali Abbasi, and Superintendent Muhammad Yaqoob Pasha said that they are optimistic to achieve the assigned revenue target for the current fiscal year 2016-17.
