Customs generates Rs2303.56m customs duty during Sep-Jan of FY2106-17

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate collected Rs2303.56million customs duty (CD) from September to January of Financial Year (FY) 2106-17.

Additional Deputy Collector Khawaja Khurram Naeem told Customs Today that the impact of Electronic Import Form (EIF) was overstated and it has not negatively affected the revenue collection. He said that during January the collectorate generated Rs538.00 million customs duty (CD) whereas the revenue of Rs486.66 million was collected under the head of CD during December FY16-17.

He said the collectorate collected Rs436.81million customs duty during November, Rs411.57million during October and Rs430.52million during September.

Khawaja Khurram added that during the last Financial Year FY2015-16 the collectorate generated customs duty (CD) of Rs3587.73million during the same period. The collectorate earned revenue of Rs427.34million during January, Rs2012.53 million during December, Rs369.91million during November, Rs378.56 million during October and Rs399.39million during September of Financial year 2015-16.
