Customs Intelligence impounds vehicles, goods worth Rs127.53m in January

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation impounded vehicles and goods worth Rs127.53 million involving custom duty and taxes Rs 51.45 million during January 2017.

Additional Director Customs Intelligence Azmat Tahira told Customs Today that under the directions of Director Rubab Sikander, the department is showing outstanding performance to curb smuggling.

Tahira told that the customs intelligence impounded 10 offending vehicles worth Rs 9.7 million as well as seized miscellaneous smuggled goods and registered 11 cases against accused ones in the month of January 2017.

Additional director said that the seized items including personal computer, and computer parts, Iranian motor oil, Vega brand pills, auto spare parts and other miscellaneous items.

She added that the campaign of the customs intelligence along with the law enforcement agencies against smuggling is making a difference and the department will keep on its performance. She said that the department will successfully achieve its assigned target for the current financial year 2016-17.
